ICÉA celebrates its 70th anniversary

The Institut de co-operation pour l’éducation des adultes (ICÉA) organised a cocktail party on Wednesday 24th May in order to celebrate its 70th anniversary at Montréal.

The ICÉA community, and the broader Québécois and French-speaking Canadian adult education community, toasted for an organisation that spans generations and political context in order to advocate for the right to lifelong education.

ICAE Secretariat was represented in the event by Sebastián Vielmas, the Membership and Mobilisation Officer of ICAE. Sebastián was able to convey the greetings of the Secretary General of ICAE, Katarina Popovic, and the entire team to Daniel Baril, the current Directeur-Général of ICÉA.

ICÉA is a key ICAE member that participates actively in the international scene. In the last years, ICÉA was the organiser of the last ICAE General Assembly 2015 in Montréal and the main partner of ICAE for the last International Academy of Lifelong Learning Advocacy in Burkina Faso in 2016.
